Rancho Santa Fe picked #1 place to live in the U.S. by the Robb Report

31st March 2006

For those that are new to Rancho Santa Fe I wanted to share an article that was published in the Robb Report. The Robb Report picked Rancho Santa Fe as the best place to live in the United States, followed by Greenwich, Connecticut, Palm Beach Florida, and Aspen, Colorado. “The trend in real estate today is towards communities that offer a secluded atmosphere as well as prestige,” said Daniel J. Philips, president of the Robb Report parent company Luxury Media Corp. “Whether it’s Aspen of Rancho Santa Fe, people seek the opportunity to live in an environment where they can maintain a heightened sense of privacy,” Phillips said. Rancho Santa Fe lies 7 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and encompasses 8,560 acres with 1,960 home sites that average about 3-acres each. Founded in the 1920’s, “we put in place a set of rules and set up an architectural review panel that has served the community very, very well,” says Pete Smith, manager of the Rancho Santa Fe Association. The community features several exclusive country clubs, riding trails, and is heavily wooded with eucalyptus trees that were planted in the 1920’s by the Santa Fe Railway for use as railroad ties. Additionally, the school system in the area is consistently rated among the best in the state.
